EPS (COLD & HEAT PRESSED)
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS, #6) is a lightweight foam plastic commonly used for protective packaging, appliance packaging, food service products, insulation, and shipping materials. Due to its low density, EPS is often densified prior to transportation and recycling.
Recovered EPS may be processed through cold compaction or heat densification methods to increase density and improve transportation efficiency. Densified EPS is commonly marketed in the form of logs, bricks, or compressed blocks for further processing into new plastic products.
Examples include appliance packaging foam, protective packaging inserts, insulated shipping containers, and commercial packaging materials.
